What’s next for augmented reality, survey, and site design?
Augmented reality brings virtual content into the context of the world around us. But how will this technology play out in the fields of survey, planning, and site design? Trimble is undertaking an Early Engagement Program with customers using a prototype outdoor augmented reality system, SiteVision, that uses the latest smartphone technology from Google with Trimble’s Catalyst GNSS receiver to produce high accuracy outdoor augmented reality. Think of your SketchUp models virtually represented in a real-world context at survey-grade accuracy. This session will offer a preview of using centimeter accuracy GNSS with Google’s ARCore technology so that building and landscape models can be automatically geo-referenced on site for client and contractor engagement, improving communication and collaboration between all parties.
