The secret powers of Scenes in SketchUp
This course is designed to help students develop a deep understanding of the workflows and efficiencies that are possible by mastering Scenes. On the surface, Scenes are deceptively simple. When used at an advanced level, Scenes can be an incredibly powerful tool for creating compelling presentations and speeding up your work. In this course, we’ll dive into the way SketchUp interpolates between Scenes when calculating transition paths so that you can more accurately predict animation results, learn to manage the relationship between Styles and Scenes (which will detour into a deep dive on SketchUp’s Styles), learn to animate Section Planes, and learn how to create specialty “working” Scenes that can help you get more done, faster.

Classical Architecture Workshop
DISCOVER CLASSICAL ARCHITECTURE
For half a millennium, Western architecture was classical – inspired by ancient Roman and Greek ideals – the rest was regarded as mere "building". Today, a growing number of people are rediscovering classical architecture, standing unsurpassed in its expressive power, beauty, and uncanny ability to instil a timeless sense of home. But the principles that guide its composition and detailing have been lost – or have they?

YOUR GUIDE TO COMPOSING CLASSICS
In this hands-on workshop, die-hard classicists and 3D teachers Felix Heuman and Anders Lyhagenfrom Swedish 3D modeling studio Holygon show how to skillfully create classical architecture in SketchUp Make or Pro. The workshop starts with a no-nonsense crash course in classical architecture composition. Using Holygon’s supplied pedestals, columns, entablatures and ornament components, plus extensions, we will help you build a fine classical 3D model to your own unique design and taste. Bring your laptop and get ready to roar.

WELCOME TO THE WORKSHOP
Do you have a fair working knowledge of SketchUp Make or Pro? Would you dare a rendezvous with classical architecture? Well – this workshop is for you. Join us now – get inspired by the classics!

Conceptual rendering
When a design is moving forward quickly, it is crucial to obtain approvals and feedback from clients and stakeholders. Developing a polished and photorealistic visualization can often take a lot of time and bring up unnecessary discussions, such as deciding on the color of brick instead of achieving better designs to improve the quality of the space. Conceptual renderings communicate design ideas and intent without levels of detail that may be unnecessary or distracting. In this session, Joseph Kim will overview use cases for conceptual rendering, as well as workflows in SketchUp, V-Ray, Enscape, and other softwares that enable great ideas to be visualized and evaluated very quickly.

Performance based design
We believe that great buildings are not only aesthetically pleasing but also perform really well - with low energy consumption, good use of natural daylight and superb occupant comfort. But the early stages of design, when most of the big decisions are made (e.g. building form and orientation, facade, layout etc.), moves very fast and is over very quickly. So even though all but the simplest projects would benefit from building performance analysis to inform design decisions, it's hard to do that analysis early in the process.
In this presentation, we'll show you how to understand your building's performance quickly and easily, so you can ensure that your building not only looks great but performs well too. We show you how using Sefaira (a part of SketchUp since 2016) helps you keep your design on track for performance goals and also to demonstrate the performance benefits of your design ideas. In this presentation, we'll show you how doing performance analysis early helps you ensure that your building not only looks great but performs great too.
