New trends in hybrid visualization
There is an immense variety of communication options available to designers, ranging from traditional hand drawings (pencil on paper) to amazing hybrid renderings entirely created on an iPad with an Apple pencil. A common thread of these workflows is the integrated use of SketchUp modeling. In this session, Jim Leggitt will review different visualization methods, comment on the strengths and appropriate use cases for each, and step-through the workflow for using SketchUp linework as a complement for hybrid visualizations.

Across furniture, finishings, and even basic room layouts, interior designers can use SketchUp to understand and evaluate important decisions and build rapport with clients. Specifically, this session will address the use of scenes, layers, and texture editing for comparing and communicating choices for layouts, furniture specifications, and finishings.

10 things I hate about your SketchUp model
There's a wonderful sort of catharsis to be had when gathering together in a room full of peers to gripe about things that nobody else in your life understands. Like how, for the tenth time this week, someone sent you a SketchUp model that contained groups that so obviously should have been created as component instances.
Join Mike Tadros as he digs into his top 10 classic grievances pulled from his decades-long career as a SketchUp modeler and trainer. We'll share some laughs while exploring tips and tricks designed to clean up your SketchUp models, more effectively collaborate with other people, and generally become the modeler that everyone loves to work with! You might even come away with some ways to help those 'other jerks' get their act together ;-)

Conceptual rendering
When a design is moving forward quickly, it is crucial to obtain approvals and feedback from clients and stakeholders. Developing a polished and photorealistic visualization can often take a lot of time and bring up unnecessary discussions, such as deciding on the color of brick instead of achieving better designs to improve the quality of the space. Conceptual renderings communicate design ideas and intent without levels of detail that may be unnecessary or distracting. In this session, Joseph Kim will overview use cases for conceptual rendering, as well as workflows in SketchUp, V-Ray, Enscape, and other softwares that enable great ideas to be visualized and evaluated very quickly.
